Fair Use Policy

  • We have a ‘Fair Use’ policy for eConsult. Patients who use the eConsult service inappropriately will not be allowed to use it.
  • Completing an eConsult (which contains clinical information) is the same as making an appointment and starting a consultation with a GP or other health care professional.
  • Patients should not need to use eConsult more than 2 or 3 times a month. Most patients will use it much less than that.
  • Please CHECK the ‘Do I need to see a GP?’ information BEFORE you complete an eConsult.
  • If you do submit an eConsult,  please do not call the practice (or submit another eConsult) before you have had a response to it.
  • If you do name a specific GP that you’d like to deal with your eConsult then we will do our best to match it to them. That is not always possible as they may not be available and we offer a response by the end of the next working day.
  • We really want to be able to offer this service in the future. Please use it wisely or we may not be able to.

—————————

Could another community health care professional (e.g. Dentist, Optician/Optometrist, Podiatrist, Pharmacist,  or the Mental Health Access Point) help me first?

  •  Up to two-thirds of GP appointments do not need a GP to deal with them and could be dealt with by another health care professional if they had gone there first.
  • If you have a mental health problem please take the time to explore the website MidSpace. There are several mental health services you can contact directly for support without the need for a GP referral.
