Over the past 6 months, Newbattle Medical Group has been helping support Danderhall Medical Practice deliver GP services. We are delighted to announce that from 1st August Danderhall Medical Practice will formally become part of Newbattle Medical Group.
What does this mean to me?
There are a number of exciting developments we have lined up to improve upon the current level of service:
Introducing eConsult
You will soon be able to contact the Practice 24/7 via eConsult. This will allow us deal with your issue far quicker than current waiting times and reduce the need for long waits on the phone. It helps improve continuity of care which has been shown to massively improve patient’s healthcare outcomes. It also helps free up phone lines for those that cannot use eConsult.
Don’t worry if you can’t use it, you will still be able to call the Practice or attend in person to request an appointment and everyone benefits from reduced waiting times.
New telephony system
We will be doing the majority of call handling from Newbattle practice where we have many more call handlers than currently at Danderhall. The phone system allows calls to be processed far quicker, reducing call waits and getting you the response you need.
New Contraceptive Services
All will have access to our excellent contraceptive services offered to our patients at Newbattle. This will include coils and implants. You may be asked to travel to Newbattle for certain procedures but there will be no more long waits for trips to Chalmers Sexual Health Services in Edinburgh.
What do I need to do?
From 7th August
1: You will be able to use eConsult to contact the practice.

2: Newbattle Medical Group uses Patient Services
Patients who were previously registered at Danderhall Medical Practice should complete this online form but be aware that from 7th August 2023 until 15th August 2023 the Online Service will not be available to you. During this period you will require to request any repeat medication in writing via post or through Danderhall Surgery
